Last Week’s Webinar on Complementary Medicine and Multiple Sclerosis Now Available Online

For those who missed the live webinar I participated in last week, it’s now available online for your listening pleasure. Okay, maybe "pleasure" is taking it a little too far, but the webinar is packed with lots of useful information. I was joined on the iConquerMS sponsored webinar by Dr. Deneb Bates, a naturopathic physician who I’ve worked with for over seven years. As is in ample evidence during the webinar, Dr. Bates really knows her stuff.

Topics covered include the doctor-patient connection, biotin, vitamin D, natural remedies for spasticity, oxidative stress, and more. There’s much material about progressive MS, along with actionable info that you can discuss with your treating physicians.

I believe the webinar can only be viewed on a desktop or laptop computer, not on a mobile device. I’d love to hear opinions from those who give the webinar a listen, so please make use of the comments section of this post to leave your thoughts. All critiques, both positive and negative, are welcome, so please don’t be shy…

  1. Opinions, comments and critiques. On a scale of 1 – 10, 10 being good 1 being bad, I give it a 10. One can really get immersed and bogged down in this stuff. Who better to lead the compassionate and intelligent charge into this foray than you, Mr. Stecker and Dr. Bates. Well done and thank you.

  2. My only complaint is that it was too short! I'm pretty well-read, but I learned things. I have more questions I'd like to see addressed next time, but this webinar was excellent.

  3. I am not a complementary medicine buff but the webinar was excellent because people with MS have such an informed and well spoken advocate like you. Bravo.

  4. Not impressed with required instalment of WebEx to hear the thing. I understand that such intrusive programmes may be sources of revenue, but I'm not willing to install dubious third party software. Love your Kamikaze blog, though, Mr Steckler. Disappointed.

  5. The material covered was informative and it could have been a lot longer. Wish i could find a doctor in California like Dr. Bates. Luckily found the telephone number to access the program as i am technologically challenged. Also sent the number to others with the same problem. Thank you sooo much Marc for continuing to share.

  6. Please please please make this available in another format. Webex is not working for me. MP3 or youtube or soundcloud please!

  7. I haven't yet watched the webinar, but I wanted to let you know (in case you didn't already) that your blog is #2 after Brass and Ivory among all the MS blogs rated on webwiki.com, a rating site. Applause from across the country.

  12. I just listened to the webinar and found it really interesting. Unfortunately (or not) I live in a rural area and there is only one neurologist for a large population and he sees lots of people with neuro issues, not just MS. Also, there isn't a single naturopath here so it was great hearing Dr. Bates. Also, since I live in Canada, I'd somehow not heard of Biotin, which will be on the list of things to talk to my neuro about when I see him next. I have PPMS too, though not a version as strange and wondrous (ha) as yours; your contribution to this broadcast was really valuable. One subject I think might be worth adding next time around is exercise. Even with limited mobility, there are still exercises one can do that help with mood and stability. Nice not to fall and all that. Bravo, Marc and thanks!
